Born in Germany in 1949, Eckhard Kremers started working as a visual artist in 1971. Between 1971 and 1976 he studied at Staatliche Akademie der Künste Stuttgart (ABK) under Daudert, Grau, Bachmayer and von Stockhausen. While living in Japan from 1977 to 1980, he studied painting and aesthetics at the Tokyo University of the Arts’ Graduate School of Fine Arts. From 1993 to 2003 he held a professorship for design at University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen (HAWK). From 2000 to 2016 he was Professor of fine arts at Philipps-Universität Marburg, where in 2010 he founded the Institute of Fine Arts (Institut für Bildende Kunst). Eckhard Kremers’ works include sculptures, paintings, prints, and photography. He lives and works in Diez, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
